Red Bandit Racing, created by the Forstar Offshore Racing Foundation, provides ambitious young sailors with the chance to compete at the professional level in Big Boat and Offshore racing.

The foundation’s mission is to train and develop talented sailors, preparing them to challenge world-class teams and win prestigious regattas.

Founded by Carl-Peter Forster, an industry veteran and experienced offshore sailor, the foundation aims to offer young sailors from one-design and dinghy classes (420, 470, 49er) the opportunity to transition into the world of big boat and offshore racing.

so this happened…

During the first inshore race of the Admirals Cup 2025 our rig collapsed. One year of preperation and training, came to a swift end… heartbreaking…

but what’s next?

In 2026 we are going to come back stronger than ever! We are currently building our rig at MC1 spars and we are ecpecting to be back on the water in April 2026.

Here is our season Plan:

  • Rolex Middle Sea Race, Valletta

But one thing is clear, we will be back at the Admirals Cup 2027. Everything we do from now on is to build the strongest campaign possible

  • The foundation was established in 2022 with the goal of fostering youth talent in competitive sailing, providing opportunities for growth, and promoting excellence in the sport.

    The first race with the Red Bandit was the 2022 Rolex Giraglia.

  • Our core team is composed of 10 sailors, providing consistency and fostering continuous development. In addition, the RedBandit cohort includes a pool of nearly 60 sailors, offering opportunities for broader participation. We prioritize maintaining a high standard of sailing excellence while supporting the growth of our sailors. By staying true to our youth-focused ethos, we ensure a dynamic and evolving team, with room for new talent and ongoing development throughout the season.
